RETURN TO SPORT

Cleared by Data, Not by a Date

“You’re six months out — you’re good to go” has ended too many comebacks. Time since surgery tells you how long you’ve healed, not how ready you are. Research is clear: athletes who return to sport without meeting objective strength and performance criteria are significantly more likely to get hurt again. Our return-to-sport testing replaces guesswork with a decision you, your family, your surgeon, and your coach can trust.

Testing What Matters

Our test battery looks at your readiness from every angle:

Isolated strength (Humac isokinetic testing)

The gold-standard measure of quad and hamstring strength, benchmarked side to side. We look for at least 90% symmetry — and strong absolute numbers, not just a good ratio.

Psychological readiness

Fear of reinjury is one of the strongest predictors of whether an athlete truly returns. We screen for confidence and readiness, not just physical capacity.

Hop test battery

Single, triple, crossover, and timed hop tests — the field-tested standards used across ACL return-to-sport research.

Movement quality (Model Health 3D motion capture)

Numbers alone aren’t enough — we analyze how you run, land, and cut in 3D, catching compensation patterns that a passing strength score can miss.

Explosive power & landing (VALD ForceDecks)

Countermovement and single-leg jump testing measures how much force each leg produces, how fast, and how well you absorb landings — asymmetries here hide easily and matter enormously.

You’ll Get a Report, Not a Guess

Every athlete leaves with a clear, objective report: where you’re ready, where the gaps are, and a targeted plan to close them. If you pass, you return with confidence. If you’re not there yet, you’ll know exactly what to train — which beats finding out the hard way.

Not Rehabbing With Us? You Can Still Test.

Return-to-sport testing is open to any athlete — including those doing rehab elsewhere who want an objective second opinion before clearance. One session, full battery, complete report shared with your care team.
